Béla Fleck playing arrangements with various string quartets.
His work with chamber ensembles goes back to the late 80's after Fleck & Edgar Meyer composed the Quintet for Banjo & String Quartet. He played this 4 movement piece several times with the Blair String Quartet including on the iconic 1988 Lonesome Pine Special that also introduced the world to the Flecktones.
In the late 2000's, Béla wrote another piece, Night Flew Over Water, which he would record and perform many times with Brooklyn Rider. On occasion, he would also perform it with other string quartets. Night Flew Over Water was released in 2013 alongside The Imposter Concerto.
Note: Bela Fleck Chamber Ensemble does not include Béla's touring data with Brooklyn Rider. Since Béla toured with Brooklyn Rider for several years, their data is tracked separately in the Brooklyn Rider section.
